Menopause

Most of us know something about menopause. But is what we know accurate? What is menopause? When does it occur? Can it be treated? Most of us share some assumptions about menopause: we might think that it is a disease, that it involves numerous complaints, that women who are undergoing menopause deeply regret losing their reproductive capacity, their sexuality and their femininity. They can also become deeply depressed. Are these assumptions accurate? Can menopause challenges be minimised? How can we use group counselling to help menopausal patience to handle menopause challenges? This paper therefore seeks to discuss how group counselling can help to handle menopause.
