Medical Management of Acute Diarrhea in Gaza City Pediatric Hospitals

In the Palestinian territories, the Diarrheal Disease constitutes a real health problem where its average percentage is more than 11% of all diseases among children under the age of five. It represents a large load. To ensure a high quality of hospital care produced for those patients, international and local case management guidelines of the DD have been set for more than two decades. However, adherence to these guidelines has become a challenge. The related studies have shown a wide variation of care. In Palestine, up to date, such matter has not been studied yet. Accordingly, this book was produced to identify the physicians' knowledge regarding the management of Acute Diarrhea in Gaza City pediatric hospitals, and to assess their clinical practices' adherence to the WHO guidelines. Therefore, it is expected to be very important for different stakeholders as it provides baseline information on the medical management of the Diarrheal Disease in the city. In addition, it will regulate the medical practices of this disease and accelerate the defaults correction and which in turn it might help in the promotion of efficient and effective healthcare delivery.
