Media: Political-Content Analysis, Ethical Journalism and Body Image

Chishala tackles policital communication issues such as how The Post covered the 2008 Presidential Election in Zambia and also how the Mail & Guardian and the Sowetan reported the Jacob Zuma Rape Trial in South Africa. He also looks at the issue of female body image/beauty as represented in film, focussing of two South African movies and two Hollywood movies. Black African women are said to be influence by the body image/beauty of black African movie stars. On World Issues is a collection of articles on Arms Trade, Oil in Africa and the coverage of Africa in the media. The main and final chapter zeros in on the debate on compartibility and incompartibility of ethics and journalism. Chishala proposes George Herbert Mead''s symbolic interaction as a maxim for ethical journalism.
