Mechanisms for the access of SMEs to public purchases

Costa Rica has established in recent years within its public policies, mechanisms to support the strengthening of SMEs, in 2002 Law 8262 was issued, which sought precisely to support this sector through public procurement, because it is no secret that this niche market becomes very attractive for companies, a dream for many, since the State is the largest buyer of goods and services, but entering this market is quite complex, because of the deadlines, requirements, guarantees, among others required by public institutions, especially by the rules governing administrative procurement. Based on the above, it is necessary to make greater efforts to support this sector of the economy, the small and medium-sized enterprises.
