Biomathematics is a scientific research field with the range of applications of mathematics in biology and medicine. The main aim of biomathematics is to create mathematical models of biological processes, using a variety of applied mathematical tools and techniques. In these areas, opportunities exist for interesting research at all levels of inter-disciplinary involvement for the mathematician. The purpose of a model construction is to provide an explanation of a certain observation with an aim of making predictions or facilitating decisions.
