Matching TVET to Labour Market Needs

Technical education operates in a complex environment owing to the multiplicity of stakeholders, primarily the users and providers of technical education. It requires a close linkage between the providers and the end users, who are the employers of technical education. The need for such linkage between these two players are made more imperative because of the fast technological changes affecting the relevance of programme curricula, facilities and other components of technical education. This is just one of the many critical concerns that need to be considered in technical education. Other equally important and critical concern also exists which underscore the need for an effective planning and management of technical education.
