Masonry Arch Bridge

Changing social needs, upgrading of design standards, increasing in loading and deterioration has to an increasing need for assessment of existing masonry arch bridges. European Union directives requiring all highway bridges to have the capacity to carry 40 tonne vehicles have served to heighten awareness of the need for effective and efficient analysis & assessment methods for masonry arch bridges. The purpose of this book is to provide a comprehensive description on theoretical background on masonry arch bridges, analytical techniques and examples that can be useful when analysing and assessing masonry arch bridges.
