Marriage and the Church in Burundi

This book is about Marriage and the Church in Burundi with specific reference to Bujumbura Archdeaconry, Bujumbura Diocese from 1993-1999. The author defines marriage in this book as the union, permanent at least by intention, of a man and a woman for the purpose of the pro-creation and education of children, and mutual companionship and existence. The book shows that some Couples do not understand each other and quarrels are increasing day by day. Therefore, Christians and Church leaders have to know that the marriage among Christians does not mean happiness only but also, there is a period of conflict and anger. The readers of this book will be aware that many families are living together unhappy. This book helps the readers to acknowledge the causes of those conflicts, and suggests some solutions. Chapter one is an introduction to the whole book, chapter two is the empirical data, chapter three is the theological analysis and interpretation of marriage in Biblical perspective from both Old and New Testament, and the last chapter concerns the suggestions, recommendations and the conclusion.
