Marine fish Immunology and Immunotehnology

Studies of fish immune system are significant for several reasons. The fish and their immune system could help in the development of a tool to monitor the environmental quality, particularly of immunotoxic environmental pollutants. Since fishes occupy a variety of ecological niches in the aquatic environment, any change in the fish immune parameters will have the potential to be a sensitive measure of environmental deterioration. Further, the rapid expansion of the aquaculture as an industry and the disease problems that the industry faces, necessitate an intensified study on fish immunology for the development of effective vaccines against a number of diseases.The workshop being the first attempt of this research group on Marine Fish Immunology towards organizing a workshop on Marine Fish Immunology from CAS in Marine Biology aims to serve as a platform for dissemination of scientific knowledge and imparting technical expertise with mutual sharing of ideas.
