MANNICH BASE: A VERSATILE PHARMACOPHORE IN DRUG DESIGN AND DISCOVERY

Mannich bases are beta-amino ketone-carrying compounds that are the end products of the Mannich reaction. The Mannich reaction is a carbon-carbon bond-forming nucleophilic addition reaction that is used in the synthesis of many natural products, pharmaceuticals, and other substances.
