Malnutrition across life cycle stages

Malnutrition is a major public health problem in all developing countries. Malnutrition among children starts at womb. Low birth weight is an immediate concern of malnutrition problem. Undernourishment at early age impairs immune system, poor cognitive development, lower productivity as adults and greater susceptibility to diet related chronic diseases. Children are the most important segment for a nation. The children¿s physical, mental and emotional development is important of its future worthy citizens. A nation¿s health depends upon healthy citizens. But in developing countries children are suffering from micro-nutrients deficiency. All adolescent must enjoy good health and well being. Adolescent girls are the vital bridge between the present and future generation. Malnutrition among male and female leads to lower productivity, illness.Malnutrition among young women leads to low birth weight babies, lower breastfeeding capacity,death due to postpartum hemorrhage and illness for her and baby. In this book we have studied the malnutrition problem across the life cycle stages.
