This book remains in interest for development economics for Sugar Cane Industry of Pakistan and to curtail its area, bit promote the cultivation of improved varieties with rational use of inputs and improve crop management. According to Economic Survey FY2020 during 2019 sugarcane production decreased by 0.4 to 66.880 million tonnes as compared to 67.174 million tonnes of year 2018. The output may portray the pattern of cultivation i.e. 1,040 thousand hectares compared to 1,102 thousand hectares, a decline of 5.6 percent, with improved yields compared to 2018-19. The Sugar Cane industry in Pakistan is the second largest agro based industry after Textiles. Pakistan is an important cane producing country and is ranked fifth in world cane acreage and fifteenth in sugar production its share in value added of agriculture and GDP about 2.9 percent and 0.6 percent, respectively.
