LPV Modeling and Robust Control of Road Vehicle Dynamics

The science of vehicle dynamics has flourished throughout the 20th century. Scientists worked on practical approaches to quantify the motion of vehicles; then came the era of tire modelling followed by the era of digital simulations and vehicle dynamics control. This book is about that period which extends from the middle 90s to the beginning of the 21st century, where many subcomponents of the vehicles became active components. That period is also the era of three letter acronyms (ABS, ESC, etc). We now talk about ADAS systems and intelligent transportation systems and also driverless vehicles. The share of control engineering, systems theory and mechatronics in automotive research is and will remain very important now and throughout the 21st century.
