Lingual orthodontics is today a reality and represents the best solution for meeting the needs of patients without the risk of compromising biomechanical efficiency. In fact, in some kinds of malocclusion, it increases efficiency. Thus, knowledge of lingual orthodontic treatment needs greater dissemination among orthodontists. During the past few years, the work of a few specialists has led to the systemization of the main steps of the lingual technique, as well as of the labial technique, allowing an easier approach for less experienced orthodontists. Many universities and orthodontic societies around the world are now beginning to offer lingual orthodontic courses, and this approach should become the port of every orthodontist's armamentarium.
