Life skills for children & adolescents: teacher trainees' perception

Life skills Education (LSE) is a means to an end of many problems that the younger generation faces with the fastest changing world and to deal the challenges of everyday life. WHO pioneered the concept of LSE and it is recognized widely. But this important approach of developing the positive coping abilities and resiliency among the younger generation is yet to be widely practices by the teaching communities at different levels. This book focused on the Trainee teachers¿ perception about the importance of life skills for the development of the children and adolescents. The ten key mother skills can be tailor made according to the specific need, situation and cultural context to ensure maximum benefit for the students in a classroom setting. The teachers being the key in this approach should be sensitized, trained and supported to practice life skills with their students. This book explained how teachers, family members can play an effective role in development of these skills and discussed how the curricular/co-curricular activities should be used for life skills education for the children and adolescents.
