The aim of this book is to investigate life in prison from the perspective of ex-prisoners and its implications for human and social development. Specifically, the aim is to understand pre-prison lifestyles, to verify how prison life is lived in terms of the curtailment of human rights and possible impacts on prisoners' subjectivity, to understand how the post-prison social reintegration process takes place and to reflect on the prison institution and development. Using a qualitative approach, the subject was divided into data collected along three thematic axes: before, during and after imprisonment.
