LED technology on public roads in the municipality of Cedro-Ce

This work is a study of the technical and economic feasibility of implementing LED (Light Emitting Diode) luminaires as part of the public lighting system in the municipality of Cedro-Ce. The study was based on data provided by the municipality and LED luminaire suppliers, which was used to survey the amount of power of the lamps installed on public roads, a visual analysis of the current operating situation of the lamps, a monthly consumption base in Kwh and R$ and an analysis of the economic viability of the cost-benefit ratio. The checks carried out during the development of the project showed that it was feasible to replace 1,943 public lamps with LED luminaires, even though the purchase price of LED luminaires is high when compared to the lamps in Cedro's public lighting network. It also showed the advantages for society and the environment, using images and technical specifications.
