Generally, the financial system is the system that performs the basic function of finance ¿ channeling funds from individuals and institutions that have surplus funds (savers or lenders) to individuals and institutions that have a shortage of funds (spenders or borrowers). This basic function of the financial system, the function of finance, could be performed directly or indirectly. To clarify, any financial system consists of two main pillars: financial markets and financial institutions (intermediaries), as well as their relations with respect to the flow of funds to and from households, governments, business firms, and foreigners.Thus, this book covers the main topics in the field of international financial markets which are international bonds, international stocks, and FOREX.
