Leadership Studies

Leadership means different things to different people around the world, and different things in different situations. For example, it could relate to community leadership, religious leadership, political leadership, and leadership of campaigning groups. ¿A leader is one who sees more than others see, who sees farther than others see, and who sees before others do (LeRoy, 2002). ¿The importance of the leader, his/or her emergence, his or her exchanges with followers and the purpose for which leadership exist provide us with the ways in which we view leadership. In ancient times, philosophers created myths to provide reasonable and acceptable explanations for the dominance of leaders and the submissiveness of followers (subordinates). In fact, the greater the socio ¿economic injustices in the society the world is distorted the realities of leadership-its powers morality, and effectiveness to the myth, (John P. Kotter 2002).
