Leadership Skills in Health Science Education

The term leadership consists of ¿lead¿ and ¿ship¿ and is about managing people to get the job done. The term leadership can be expands further as ¿the process of influencing others to understand and agree about what needs to be done, how it can be done effectively, and the process of facilitating individual and collective efforts to accomplish the shared objectives¿. Therefore, leadership goes beyond vision into values, aims and goals. Leaders are not necessarily people who make a paradigm shift. That is unusual. Most people have leadership in them and so leadership is a natural expression and people demonstrate both leadership and situational awareness through emotional intelligence. I am working as medical teacher since last 20 years. During my professional career, I realised that as a teacher we have not only to do teaching but also have to work as a leader. With this thought I started updating my knowledge about academics and improving leadership skills. Then I thought that this information can be converted into a booklet.
