Lawachara National Park

The present research was carried out to highlight the angiospermic flora of Lawachara National Park. The researcher identified a total of 309 species during his one year research period. These have been assigned to 217 genera and 81 families.The families have been arranged according to Cronquist¿s system of classification (1981). The ethnobotanical data on 103 species are recorded during field trips from this area. The study found that the area is also habitat for twelve threatened species of Bangladesh.This research was also carried out to identify the threats to present plant diversity of the area. The possible conservation measures are suggested for the proper maintenance of the angiospermic flora of the area. From the present preliminary investigation it may be concluded that the research area is floristically rich. To make complete inventory of the angiospermic flora of the park, further long term survey is necessary.
