The book presents many important aspects of law and insurance, specially focusing on how law is indispensable for insurance business and how law is part & parcel of insurance functioning, like insurance policies and claims, regulation of the business of insurance; regulation of the content of insurance policies, especially with regard to consumer policies; and regulation of claim handling. It makes an attempt to explain that without law, insurance functioning is not possible. We have to keep in mind always that insurance being a contract, comes under domain of contract law. Hence, it depends enormously on contract law. Further, it has also chapters on principles of insurance and case laws explaining the importance of law for insurance.
