Landuse Profile of Tecknaf Municipality

Land use and land management practices have a major impact on natural resources including water, soil, nutrients, plants and animals. Land use information can be used to develop solutions for natural resource management issues such as salinity and water quality. For instance, water bodies in a region that has been deforested or having erosion will have different water quality than those in areas that are forested. Bangladesh is a third world developing country with a huge population within a small area. But its favorable climate, countless rivers, fertile soil, flora & fauna, natural resources make it rich. But we can¿t enjoy our resources because of the high pressure of population. For proper management of existing land and for sustainable development Bangladesh must adopt some policy. For the policy and protection of land it is necessary to explore the present situation of land use pattern, its trends and nature of dependency on land.
