Lamentations in Cameroon's Educational System

The Cameroonian Government has been taking measures, since the advent of Cameroon¿s independence, to provide sound or bankable education to Cameroonian citizens. Unfortunately, they have been experiencing a good number of shortcomings owing to many managerial, psychological, socio-cultural, economic, financial and material weaknesses. One of the aims of this book is to present and discuss some of these shortcomings in the following sections: teachers¿ career; accessibility to education; examination or assessment malpractices; health issues; school infrastructure; school subventions; teachers¿ financial status; scholarships; school fees; drinking and smoking in schools; promiscuity and sexual harassment; some socio-cultural activities (debates, parties, etc); information and communication technologies; exchange programmes; harmful groups; parent-teacher relationships; teacher-student relationships; etc. Lastly, this book also presents the way forward.
