L2 Listening Comprehension in Multimodal Environments

The advent of multimedia technology have brought to language teaching and learning several new perspectives on the use of audiovisual formats. These have broadened the avenues from the teaching of the so called traditional approaches to new innovative pedagogical ones which have introduced into their theoretical framework the use of this technology. In effect, exploiting the wide range of possibilities through the different modalities that this modern tool has come to offer, not only has challenged researchers and material developers, but educators and learners as well. Therefore, it is important to investigate how this technology may benefit or facilitate the processes of Second Language Acquisition (SLA).
