Kosovo's Verification Procedure for Diplomas of Private Colleges

This book addressed the issue of regulation of the verification procedures for diplomas and other documents issued by the Private Providers of Higher Education (PPHEs) in Kosovo. Diplomas issued by the private colleges are not considered as valid without going through a verification procedure within the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the Kosovo Accreditation Agency. Whereas, on the other hand public universities in Kosovo are not required to apply this verification procedure. The aim of this book was to find out whether this verification procedure is in compliance with the 2011 Law on Higher Education and do the diplomas from the accredited institutions and programs need the verification procedure. The book aims to help the MEST and the KAA to establish a sustainable quality assurance mechanism that will ensure equal treatment of all students and higher education institutions in Kosovo regarding their certificates and degrees. It presents the mechanisms serving to ensure that all institutions provide programs which meet quality standards internationally recognized. This book gives important recommendations for solving the problem.
