John Dewey's Conception of Trust and the Implication For Governance

The book looks at John Dewey's notion of trust. Dewey in his pragmatic philosophy, especially in his moral theory identified certain moral values that are essential for the flourishing of any society, especially democratic society. These values include mutual dialogue, social cooperation, social dialogue, tolerance and trust. The Book however, examine value of trust, identified trust as social cement necessary for the growth and development of any society. The book also shows how trust especially the trust between the governed and the govern ensure that good governance thrives in a democratic society. Book also shows how the absence of trust is responsible for bad democratic experiences especially mistrust and distrust is the order of the day.
