Job Satisfaction at the Chandigarh Police Department

Police is one of the most important institutions that is held responsible for the maintenance of law and order in the society. Sociology looks at the police as a tool of social control, analyses their role in society in perspective from conflict and consensus. The ratio of suspension among police officials is higher in comparison to other professions. Police perform their duty 24X7. They work even on government holidays and festivals of tradition and sect. First chapter explores the problem and status of the police officials in the world. Most of the studies present that police officials suffer a lot. They are neglected for the rewarding the form of their promotions and allowances. In the second chapter, profile of police officials was explained such as their rank, family composition, working status of spouse, number of children etc. Third chapter explains level of job satisfaction and fourth chapter reveals the determinants of job satisfaction of police officials.
