Today, cultural diplomacy is undoubtedly a key element of the foreign policy of any state. Japan, as a country whose reputation was badly damaged during World War II, has set a goal for itself in this century: to rehabilitate itself in the eyes of the world community. The culture of anime, manga and cosplay has long ago transcended the boundaries of the country and has earned universal approval among the representatives of a large number of countries. Japanese writers have been translated into many languages and Japanese history and traditions have attracted the genuine interest of many researchers.
