Isolation&Characterization of Markers from Leaves of Moringa oleifera

The book focussed on the isolation, characterisation and standardisation of markers from the medicinal plant Moringa oleifera. Isolation was done by Column chromatography and Preparative chromatography. Characterisation of markers was done by U.V Spectroscopy, I.R Spectroscopy, NMR Spectroscopy and Mass Soectroscopy. U.V. Spectroscopy is used to detect the ¿max, I.R is concerned to detect the functional groups, NMR is used to detect the sequential arrangement of groups in a compound and mass spectroscopy is used to detect the molecular weight of the compound. By using these above techniques we can predict the structure and molecular weight of the compound. Then standardise these isolated markers.
