This book shows the power of a small mini-computer based Raspberry Pi used as a remote client. The main intention of this project was to combine the effectiveness of cloud and an IoT device to develop a bio-metric SaaS which can be exploited for authentication purposes. Also the study implemented cryptographic solutions to make this low-cost bio metric system secure. The Advanced Encryption Algorithm (AES-256) was incorporated which modified to increase the complexity of the algorithm. The encryption process was executed on the RPi while the decryption process was executed as a cloud service on Azure Platform. Thus this dissertation was successful in building a low-cost, portable, secure, flexible and scalable IoT based bio-metric system using Raspberry Pi as a remote enrollment node.
