Axial flow fan blades are the important parts in ventilation and therefore an accurate estimation of the stresses, deformations and vibration characteristics are required in the design of the blade to avoid failure and obtain an optimum weight and cost. This work presents the numerical solution to estimate the stresses and deformations for steady-state and dynamic responses. Also, the analytical solution and experimental test carried out to investigate the vibration characteristics of the investigated fan blades. All formulation and computations are coded in FORTRAN-77. The dynamic response results were estimated by ANSYS/ 5.4 package. The numerical, analytical and experimental results are compared with the results in the previously published literature and MSC/ NASTRAN package, and the present results show good agreement.Many parameters such as speed of rotation, thickness, skew angle, pre-twist angle, disc radius, aspect ratios, type of alloy and the shape of cross-sectional area for the practical fan blade are investigated in this work. These parameters affect the design of fan blades and also different types of fan blades are studied.
