This is a hands-on research course that will provide primary school teachers with a pathway to conduct applied or action research that will provide an evidence base to improve teaching and learning. Upon completion of the course, students may be able to demonstrate content knowledge of principles, ethics, rigor, and processes in conducting action research. Carry out educational research in groups of 2-3 under the direction of the research professor or advisor or mentor: formulate research problems, justify their importance, collect literature and related studies, choose a research methodology and research design procedures, data collection procedures, construction of research instruments, validation, data collection, data organization, analysis and interpretation of results, conclusion and recommendations, citations and adequate references.
