INTRODUCTION TO PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION

This book is mainly designed for B. Ed/B S C Ed and PGDE students. The content of the book is an amalgamation of topics across the syllabi of course outlines of the two programmes with the view to meeting the requirements of the target students. Principally, the topics in book cover the concepts of philosophy concepts, analysis, educational concepts analysis, and implication of philosophy on theory and practice of education with specific application to Nigerian situation. The objectives of the book are aimed at providing students with textual material on philosophy of education at introductory level as well as detailing basic aspects or foundation on the studies of philosophy of education. The book also demonstrates the relevance of philosophy of education and sheds more light on its relationship to educational theories and practices as well as National Development and challenges. The book is presented in thirteen chapters and each chapter presents its propositional ideas in line with its topical domains.
