This work was done and submited at the United Nations University Fisheries Training Pragramme (UNUFTP) on completion of the six months Advanced Training and Research fellowship, Iceland, 2006. The aim of the work was to prepare internal quality control and quality assurance routines guidelines to be used in microbiological laboratories implementing quality system in accordance with the ISO/IEC 17025 standard.
