Integration of Technology Into the Teaching of History

Information and communication technology (I.C.T.) has become, within a very short time, one of the basic building blocks of modern society. The role of I.C.T. in teaching and learning is rapidly becoming one of the most important and widely discussed issues in contemporary education policy. As a result, the role of the teacher is very important in rolling out this innovation (integrating ICT into the curriculum). This is because teachers are at the centre of curriculum change and they control the teaching and learning process. Therefore, they must be able to prepare the young generation for the current technology in which the competency to use ICT to acquire and process information is paramount.
