This work was designed to give insights on the various key topics in industrial microbiology. The topics discussed include screening for microbes of industrial importance and industrial products, detection and assay of fermentation products, aspect of the biology of industrial culture techniques and maintenance, media and air sterilization required for microbial fermentation, fermentation, types of fermenters, design and uses of fermenters and optimization of fermentation process.
