Innovative Engineering Product Design: Concepts and Practical Examples

Unraveling colossal-problems, faced by the-humanity, in the 21st Century, requires both; Creativity and Innovation. In-essence, Creativity is a-mere-starting-point (ideation) for any Innovation, while Engineering-Design is the only credible-link (being disciplined, meticulous, and consistent), which enables successful-transformation from Creativity (e.g., unique-ideas) into useful-Innovations (such-as: artifacts, systems, processes, and services). This-book presents a-digest of selected-examples of Innovative Product designs, to-solve 3 conceptually-different-types of problems, such-as: (i) lack of affordable-housing (2 examples); (ii) cheating at exams via mobile-phones (3 examples); and (iii) particular-medical-condition (2 examples). The-book also exposed a so-called ¿Paradox in-Engineering-Creativity¿, where divergent and convergent-thinking do co-exist. Moreover, a-fascinating-history of Thomas Edison¿s light-bulb-invention is detailed, alongside-with current-developments in-the-field of lighting.
