Innovations in Indian Higher Education

The advent of the 21st century marks the era of innovation for the education sector of India. Educational Innovation initiatives by the Government of India and the University Grants Commission have paved the way for expansion, inclusion and excellence in the higher education sector. The State Government of Gujarat proved a forerunner in foreseeing the need and implementing the various innovations, such as Innovation Commissions, Knowledge Societies, Consortiums, innovative universities and programs, etc. The authors have brought out a comprehensive account of all the innovations in the higher education sector of Gujarat State, India by eliciting information from all available sources and presented them in a lucid way for the benefit of all stakeholders in education.
