Inland waterway cargo transport on the Magdalena River

In the development of the recovery of the Rio Grande de la Magdalena (Magdalena River) within the sections of the port of Barranquilla to Barrancabermeja, it has been evidenced that it has gone through different problems in the process of contracting the project called Public Private Partnership (PPP), due to various irregularities with the contractor, taking into account the mismanagement of resources, purchase of irregular material which has led to a deterioration in the ports and dredging of the Magdalena River, generating a decrease in the transport of cargo by river mode. The main objective of the book is to identify the development of the Magdalena River and the means of cargo transport within the sections of the port of Barranquilla and Barrancabermeja supporting the research with bibliographic sources, mainly taken from the internet, using articles, institutional documents and documents of state entities (Cormagdalena and Ministry of Transport) within the years 2012 to 2019 and thus know the shortcomings that have occurred with the project that the government has launched, it is expected to start the new contract in 2020.
