INJECTABLES IN TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT DISORDERS

Temporomandibular joint disorder is a collective term embracing a number of clinical problems that involve the masticatory musculature, the temporomandibular joint and associated structures, or both. It can happen due to trauma, anatomic factors and pathophysiologic and psychosocial factors. Most experts agree that treatment should begin with conservative, nonsurgical therapies, with surgery left as the last resort, hence injectables come into play. This book discusses briefly about some of the injectables like corticosteroids, Hyaluronic acid, Autologous blood, Dextrose, Platelet Rich Fibrin, Platelet Rich Plasma, Ozone gas, Incobotulinum toxin A, etc, which are all conservative approaches to treat Temporomandibular joint disorder.
