Information Retrieval System in Human Genetics

This book describes about the procedure to build a digital library using Greenstone open source software. Digital Libraries (DLs) are complex systems. Management of digital information is key factor in R&D, education and decision-making. Library and Information Science (LISc) professional are playing a crucial role. The pilot study has proposed a model for management of digital multimedia based information system in Human genetics using Greenstone software. Human genetics is much more than the study of mere hereditary diseases. It has emerged as basic biomedical sciences to know the endogenous factor of public health. The main objective of the study is to create and develop a digital information system in human genetics to find out the R&D trend as a pilot study to support an expensive information system of global importance to scientists and researchers.
