INFORMATION MANAGEMENT AND BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

In the contemporary fast-changing business environment the availability of operative and consistent information is one of the most essential factors guaranteeing the success of an enterprise. In creating the competitive advantage more and more importance is attached to the role of information and knowledge. Due to tense competition decisions must be made faster, whereas the volume of data available in the enterprises is on the rise. The application of business intelligence might be one of the possible solutions for this problem concerning so many enterprises. New theories and methods for management accounting system are very popular for last decade that are defined with term ¿business intelligence¿ and cover difficult analytical methods combined with the development of information systems as a whole integrated system. The aim of this book is to investigate different approaches to business intelligence concept and to find out are they applicable to decision-making process in one Estonian insurance company and if yes, how to apply them.
