Industry of Chhattisgarh: Location Factors, Development and Planning

Developing countries are characterized by less development, social backwardness and unemployment due to non-mobilization of resources. It is due to low resource use and lack of infrastructural facilities. The related problems are poverty, population explosion, low productivity, low-income, technological backwardness, non-skilled and untrained population, etc., which are responsible for low industrial development. At present, industrialization is the only process to raise income as well as productivity and to create regional balanced development in newly emerging states like Chhattisgarh. It also follows the process of decentralization and diversification of economic activities as well as rapid mobilization of resources in the transformation at the regional and national level. This book is to evaluate and examine the raw materials, infrastructures, spatial distribution of industries and workers, industrial clustering and industrial potentials for industrial planning. Further, the study intends to bring forth an industrial development plan based on demand and resources in an integrated manner.
