Industrial Pole of Manaus

The research takes an approach to the factors of retraction of production in the Industrial Complex of Manaus, the consequent increase in unemployment and the institutional strategies for the resumption of productivity and economic growth. The interest in the study of the Industrial Complex of Manaus - PIM is reflected in the fact that it has become, over time, indispensable for the growth of the local economy, making the economic sector of the city dependent on the activities developed in the industrial district. This fact has generated controversy in the sense that the companies installed there only remain due to the policy of tax incentives, hence the local political authorities constantly act in the direction of their permanence, therefore, the Manaus Free Trade Zone and in this context the PIM has gone through several processes of extension. In this context, there is a need to focus on the issue of the continuity of the local economy being dependent on this model based on tax incentives and on foreign capital through the transnational companies established in that city. Another preponderant factor is the influence of the PIM in the labor market, in the promotion of direct and indirect jobs.
