Inclusion of Environmental Education Into South Korean Schools

With the ever increasing rate of environmental degradation, it is imperative that citizens, including youth are educated about protecting the quality of the atmosphere, oceans, forests, and the soil. Inclusion of Environmental education into schools¿ curriculum is just one of the many effective ways of increasing environmental awareness thereby influencing the actions of young people now and when they reach adulthood, so that they may act in a way as to benefit the environment. This book highlights the importance of, and discusses the implementation of Environmental education in some Asian countries, as well as the constraints experienced during implementation. It therefore provides ministries of education, educators, school principals, school management teams, universities, colleges of education, whole school evaluators and personnel engaged in professional development activities, incentive and information for the inclusion of Environmental education into any educational programme.
