This is a study of part of Roberto Carlos' artistic production. The singer is the biggest phenomenon of Brazilian popular music, totaling more than 120 million albums sold (SANCHES, 2009). Besides, his history followed the formation and systematization of the national cultural industry. Consequently, to properly understand it, we must, inevitably, follow the trajectory of this artist. To qualify the characteristics involved in the process, we analyzed the discography of Roberto Carlos released between the year 1961 and the year 1982 - totaling 22 albums. This period includes the first recordings of the singer until the peak of his career.
