In einem Atemzug von Gott und Jesus Christus reden?

Der Band dokumentiert Beiträge einer Tagung zum 1700. Jubiläum des Ersten Ökumenischen Konzils von Nicaea und des dort formulierten Bekenntnisses. Die international, interreligiös und interdisziplinär ausgerichteten Studien fragen angesichts der historischen und theologischen Entwicklungen in Christentum und Judentum danach, welche Lösungsansätze für christologische Sprachfiguren heute möglich und sinnvoll sind.
Dabei werden grundlegende Fragestellungen thematisiert. Sie betreffen das Gottesverständnis im antiken Judentum, die Verehrung Jesu und die Christologie im Neuen Testament und frühen Christentum, die gottesdienstliche Kommunikation mit Gott und Jesus, die Fleischwerdung des Logos, aber auch die Verständlichkeit und Nutzbarkeit theologischer Denkfiguren in der Frömmigkeitspraxis. Gefragt wird: Wie haben jüdische Gelehrte die Entwicklung im Christentum wahrgenommen? Wie kann heute systematisch-theologisch, in der Gebetspraxis und im Religionsunterricht sachgemäß von und zu Gott und Jesus gesprochen werden? Der Band wird abgeschlossen durch Tagungskommentare aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven.

This volume documents contributions from a conference marking the 1700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea and the creed formulated there. In light of historical and theological developments in Christianity and Judaism, these international, interreligious and interdisciplinary studies explore which approaches to Christological language are possible and meaningful today. Fundamental questions are addressed. They concern the understanding of God in ancient Judaism, the veneration of Jesus and Christology in the New Testament and early Christianity, liturgical communication with God and Jesus, the incarnation of the Logos, but also the comprehensibility and usability of theological concepts in the practice of piety. The questions asked are: How did Jewish scholars perceive developments in Christianity? How can we speak appropriately about God and Jesus today in systematic theology, in prayer practice and in religious education? The volume concludes with conference comments from different perspectives.
