Improving Surface Finish and Microhardness using Sequential Burnishing

The book presents details about "Burnishing Process", which is a cold forming finishing process done after machining. It is the masters thesis work. Burnishing process helps to improve surface finish as well as micro hardness in one step; which makes it unique for engineering applications in finishing such as for hydraulic and pneumatic sealing in valves, pistons and cylinders. The experimental part is presented using Taguchi's Design of experiments and orthogonal arrays using MINITAB software.
