IMPRESSION TECHNIQUES IN DENTAL IMPLANTS

This dissertation examines various impression techniques in dental implants, emphasizing their crucial role in achieving accurate and reliable outcomes. It categorizes these techniques into conventional methods, such as open-tray and closed-tray techniques, and digital methods, including intraoral scanning and CBCT imaging. Conventional techniques provide direct access and stability, while digital methods enhance patient comfort and streamline workflows. This dessertation covers the techniques based on accuracy, patient comfort, time efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, revealing that both approaches have unique advantages and limitations. Challenges include material selection, operator skill, and patient factors, all impacting the impression process. Ultimately, the dissertation highlights the importance of selecting the appropriate technique for each clinical scenario and anticipates that advancements in technology will further improve implant impressions and patient outcomes. Recommendations include ongoing clinician education on new technologies and further research into the long-term efficacy of various impression methods.
